Default Bonnie and Clyde Ambush Museum & Site

Drove down from Arkansas today to Gibsland, Louisiana to the Bonnie and Clyde Ambush Museum and then on to the ambush site itself. Neat day of history spent today with wifey.

Don’t let the movies glamorize them……Bonnie and Clyde were mean!

Thanks Man. I actually just got that truck out of Ohio via Autotrader.com. It’s a true original low mileage 1990 Chevy Sport. I have had new belts, hoses, fluids, tires, and exhausts put on it and had the AC recharged and it’s ready to cruise! Wifey likes it and I do too. New trucks are too expensive, too big when it comes to washing & waxing, and they have way too many gadgets & bells & whistles & lights that’ll eventually mess up. I’m 52 and this little black beauty will probably be my last truck.

By the way, GM truck enthusiasts call the 1973-1987 trucks Squarebody and the 1988-1998 trucks OBS for “old body style” is how I’ve been told.

I had a 91 stepside that had a lot of motor and transmission work done on it before I bought it. All it lacked when I purchased it was a trip to a dyno to be tuned. It was a fun to drive. It did love the fuel.

I had the good fortune to meet Boots Hinton, son of one of the cops that "caught" Bonnie and Clyde. He ran the museum and, being the only visitors at the time, I was able to talk to him for quite a while about Bonnie and Clyde and the man hunt his father was involved in. He was a very interesting guy to talk to.

Man that is super cool! Would love to go and visit that museum also. I also like the old square body style trucks which makes since because I am 51! Thanks for sharing.
