Default Is 68 years enough to keep a SECRET ???

My mom and Dad bought an old one room School house about 1/4 mile from my Grandpaws home Place. My older brother was in the 1 st grade when we built on the back a bathroom and porch. Then Septic tank and Black Cast Iron drain lines for the drain field .. I helped put Chinking in the joints and Daddy poured Lead into the jonts .. I was 4 years old,, Much younger than most folks can remember things... We lived in that old place for three years. Daddy had cut a tree that was close to the Property line and caused a Rift with the neighbor -- an old widow woman .. We three boys were told to stay away from the neighbors.... we made a couple of runs to see what and why -- She caught us when we got too close... She took us inside her old shack of a house an gave us cookies and Milk. As we were eating the Cookies she saw that my older brother had Worts on his hands ,, she asked him if he had been playing with Toads -- She said they were not to be played with -- do you want those worts... ??? He said that he didnt want them .. I can take them off if all of you promise to never tell anyone -- ever !!!! We went outside and she got several small pieces of Cracked corn then a Pin she picked at the wort untill there was a drop of blood. She told him to put the blood on a piece of Corn then feed it to the Chickens.. with every wort picked and corn was fed to another chicken --- again she said we can never Tell --- within ONE WEEK EVERY ONE OF THEM WAS GONE .... we never dared go back .. Every time I go to Ruston I drive past the place where her place was located and I remember her Name

She was a wart witch. I live on the tail end of the Appalachian mountains. I've heard of those all my life. My neighbor across the road could cure thrush in babies. He was the 7th son of a 7th son. Not sure how that qualifies you to cure thrush, but people took their babies to him until his death. The man would always take the child in a room and return a few minutes later from what I was told.

Only problem, is you told, so now your brothers warts will grow back.

I have often told myself she was also a Good witch -- Silently Praying to a Beneficial spirit -- it was not only the corn and Chickens -- also consider she knew we were coming and baked the Cookies
