    Default Staying Prepared

I was out in the yard cutting grass this morning and noticed a bunch of green bitter pecans had fallen out of the trees and I picked up about a third of a bucket to make a natural dip for my coon and coyote traps. I know this is a lost art but I'm trying to keep the sport alive. I use an old pot and add about 4 gal of water to boil the nuts and add willow leaves and green willow branches to make my dye. Boil till water turns black then boil some more, remove the nuts and leaves and soak the traps for a day or two. Also for you guys that paint your own lures, wlure has back in stock the C55s and C33 blanks. I purchased a hundred of each, seams like when ever I needed some they were sold out of the ones I wanted. Just a little FYI.

I had gone back one more time and didn't stay long, a big line of showers was moving in and a bunch of small garfish were being a pain. Didn't hook anything big even the 3 sacalait were released. Might try tomorrow.
