Too much humidity in that room. Have you had an outdoor door open working on something. Or if it's in bathroom or kitchen run exhaust van to help remove moisture

The insulation could be pulled away from the vent allowing the warm attic air to contact the cold vent thus forming condensation.

50 year old AC units had a built in door that you could open that would pull in outside air

I had to think on this for a few days Vet --- When a Coil starts to get very dirty ,, like stopped up .. it starts to freeze up because the area with less air moving across the coil has a lower Temp ---- With very dirty Coils there will be Ice that forms on the Pipe leading back outside untill it finally reaches the Unit outside... This Moisture build up is a sign of slow moving Air --- Hope this Helps

Another Thing Vet --- the reason AC Companys say to have a seasonal check is the Fan Motor on the Inside unit has High and Low speeds... During the heat cycle they change the motor speed to get the best efficiency and increase the speed to keep the unit from freezing, or having Condensation on the vents

Yes just need to take the time to turn the vent on and see if it stops.
