A very special thanks to all my friends here for the prayers, thoughts, and suggestions. My head is still a little fuzzy but I'm feeling much better. Last night Linda was able to sleep as the incident is slowly fading into the background. I ask y'all for continued prayers. Today I'm hiding from the 99° temperature and 120° heat index, man it brutal out there.

God Bless all and Have a Happy 4th.

Doing a little math you were cutting grass for about 2 hours --- add that to being under the shed, it was more like 5 hours in the heat --- My Grass had got like yours from Rain and soil too wet to support the weight of the " o " turn mower without getting it buried in the mud.. Between Mommas and mine there is about 4 Acres --- I have learned to pick up the deck and knock the top off then another cut to shorten it some more.. When the Clippings dry do the finish cut and do not try to cut too much... I had a Dentist in Ruston that like you, Fell off his tractor -- the Bush Hog took his Right Hand but it could have been his life.. Glad you are well enough to go fishing again

Glad the Lord gave you more time Paw Paw....
As a mail carrier in Lafayette, I don’t look forward to summer. My grandpa died at 93, he told me it wasn’t this hot when he was growing up.....I also had a lady in her mid-80’s tell me it wasn’t this hot way back then....She said she used to pick cotton in summer, and there’s no way they could’ve done that now......Some say way more concrete/asphalt now.......
    Glad you’re ok

Thanks Marty. I visited the scene today to see if someone had cut my yard. I was told it would be taken care of and it was. While down there I sat on the tractor to see what had gave me a bruise and skin tear on my side. Also I wanted to see how the tire was rubbing on my arm. I sat up on the seat and leaned over to try and duplicate the position I was in. It was then that I realized that I was but a fraction of an inch of having my arm pulled off and may pulling me off the tractor. My angels were watching.

Since the grass had been mowed I brought my zero turn down with me and I cut it again shorter in preparation for the tropical weather heading our way. I wanted to get it cut before all the rain hit making it impossible to cut. Well I got it done. It's looking good now.

Watch out for the rain and the floods,

Thanks Buster, yes some bad things could happen with this system even if it isn't a major storm. Just with the thunderstorms today New Orleans had 8 inches fall in a short period of time which flooded parts of the city. With the Mississippi River at very high levels a storm surge of around 5 feet could top the levees in some places. We are situated between the Mississippi and the Atchafalaya Rivers which both have been at record levels pushing waters towards us from both east and west. With the set up we have it could lead to catastrophic flooding and destruction. If it is a big rain maker that could be worse than the winds and tide.

    Thanks for the prayers,
