    Default Garmin automoble GPS

Anyone using a Garmin GPS in your vehicle and if so which one and how do you like it. I've been using TomTom for a few years and get along fine with them but I see Garmin has a model with a road camera build in and uses your phone to give you weather updates and other benefits. Just wondering if they are any good and worth the price. I'll also post on the main forum.

Download Waze on your phone, best and most up to date gps I have found and it warns you of vehicles on the side of the road and of cops!

I use Google maps on my android phone. In most places it gives me the speed limit displayed, it shows delays in traffic ahead, detours, and even speed traps! All while showing me a satellite view. I don't even use my Garmin GPS anymore when traveling. I just set my phone on my dash against my windshield for a perfect heads up view. My truck has built in navigation but Google maps is constantly updating so I use it more than my trucks nav system

X2! I just use my phone and the Waze app. Or google maps. Or maps from Apple.

When traveling across country or to another part of the state, I have my TomTom on my dash. It keeps me informed of speed limits, accidents, arrival time, mileage to go, and other pertinent info. On my console I have my laptop open to the Delorme street program. With it I can zoom out to see what ahead like towns and rest stops or a place to make a pit stop or I can zoom in to street level to see all the fine detail of where I'm at. It also allows me to see other sites along the way that I wouldn't know were there but I might like to stop at. With it I can detour, see the site and it will get me back to my original destination. Next time out I'll use Google maps which I already have and my laptop and see how that works out. Thanks for the thoughts.

Today I tried WAZE and it work wonderfully well except It's hard for me to read the screen on my iphone 7s. I've also used Google maps when looking for addresses around and it also works well. Thank y'all for the info I really appreciate it. I still think I will be going with the Garmin because of the ease of reading for one. I also like the idea of the forward looking camera and the fact that I call can make and receive call with out taking my phone out my pocket. Another plus is to be able to receive weather reports and radar all from the same unit. I'm thinking hard right now and will make up my mind soon.
