    Default Rodger Dangerfield was Right

No Respect --- Was his Favorite Line,, I needed to go to town for some things at the Grocery Store. Just after pulling out of the driveway, Before the Neighbors House I Passed a Big Loggerhead in the Ditch that had been in My Pond, It was headed towards the Road to cross the Highway. This turtle had been around since the Louisiana Purchase. I stopped at the Driveway at my Cousins Place, But it was too late -- One of those Good ole Boys aimed his truck to hit it. then in less than a minute two More vehicles hit him again.. There was nothing That could be done to save it at that Point ---- When I returned from town at Least One kind Soul had stopped and removed it From the Highway into the ditch -- his act of kindness helped restore some Faith there are still lots of Good Kind Hearted folks out there

I have no issue with hunting and fishing and utilizing wildlife for the purpose that I believe it was intended. But, people like that who intentionally destroy life to satisfy some demented thrill that it gives them are deep down sick and twisted individuals beyond any doubt. I can't help but believe that there will be a day of reckoning for those types when they (I pray) will reap the same measure of mercy that they doled out when they needlessly took the life of any poor defenseless animal solely because they had the power to do so.

You saw the truck aim to hit it?
That’s a no go in my book.
    Just askin?
I stop and move em all the time and I see them hit allll the time.
If idve seen the turtle and was as old as you said Then that means it’s big. Real big.
It’d be in a pot tonight. But that’s me.
    Cowan meets the pot.
If idve seen an ol boy go out of his way to smush an animal and not pick it up afterwards. Another story.
There’s a difference in a lot of actions and every opinion will spark a controversy or at least an angry thought most of the time. Just saying.
If it’s dead carcass got moved from road to ditch, I’m glad that made you happy....
    You’re a good fella

The Snapping Turtle was about 18 Inches .. It was half way between the Edge and the Center Stripe... Anyway I think most of us are not Blameless -- I will Bust a Blood Sucking Skeeter or a Fly in the house. Wasp building nest under the seat on the Lawn Mower or Trailer Hitch, or the Deer Stand..

Any moron who runs over wildlife on purpose should have their license revoked. Always take special care with any wild game and cannot stand to waste anything. If you kill it eat it.Just a very few exceptions--snakes,coyote,few more.I enjoy reading your post Fish. Thanks Again

I purposely swirved to miss a snapper on the way home from work last night and the truck behind me did also. I agree with the others, if you are not going to eat it, DON'T KILL IT!
