    Default Duck Hunting

Been 3 years since I have gone. Went this morning to Sabine. I forgot how much work it is! Only had 1 come through my decoys. Shot once, dropped him dead! Man I felt good! Let him drift to the grass approximately 80 yards away, no dog and that marsh is incredibly difficult to walk because you sink up to your groin with every step! About an hour later a hawk decides he wants an easy meal so swoops down and grabs my ONLY duck! Fire a shell to scare him off and he drops it about 6 feet over. Another 40 minutes goes by and here comes another hawk trying to steal my bird! Another shot to scare him off! 1 shot to kill duck and then 2 shots to protect my kill!

You’re lucky a gator didn’t come along and grab it. That is what happened to my brother in law.
