We’ve been using Morton’s lite salt for years. I’ve heard of the “Pink” but haven’t try it, but I will research it and look into getting some. Any thread that benefits our members health is a good thread, thanks.
The year was 1971 --- the Father-n-law had what was fortunate for him a mild Heart Attack. A couple of weeks later he had the first Quadruple Heart bypass surgery in Jacksonville Florida.. He was told to change his diet and reduce his Salt intake drastically. His Doctor said to use Salt Substitute Now doctors know that is the worse thing for Heart Patients, Followed by Iodized salt and refined table salt --- we have used Sea salt but after reading on Google , we are changing Himalayan pink, with over 80 essential minerals it helps balance the Body's PH --- But please don't take my word for it --- and if you Use the Iodized throw it in the Trash it is bad for the Thyroid and raises blood pressure

I have pulled up and perused a couple of articles on the "Pink"; https://www.healthline.com/nutrition...himalayan-salt ; https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/315081.php Both of these are 2017 articles. Do you have something more recent to refute these, as I'm interested in the latest info. Thanks

Redmonds salt, named Real Salt, is also naturally mined sea salt. I have used it and the Himalayan and I prefer the taste of the Redmonds. They're both all natural and I like that Redmonds is mined in the US. I don't know what sort of mining practices they use in Pakistan which is where I read Himalayan salt comes from.
Regarding the the trace minerals in the salt..... They are at such low concentrations, they are of little significance.

It's all sodium chloride "NaCl". No matter where it was mined or the color.
Best advice I have is do not add it to your food and avoid food that has it.
and a lot of bottle water has salt and baking soda added.
Ephesians 1:13
Now bottled water , we are doomed.

I believe I'll live happy (but maybe not as long) with some iodized salt in my food.
