Thank you. They are safe, other SIL lauched boats off the interstate at Millerville and made their way to find them.Their subdivision is about 3 miles from Bass Pro. Will be coming across the river asap. While they were helped last night, they were not sure where they even were going. This morning my SIL made it back home to get some clothes and rescued another family. They had 2 ft of water in the house and water in their car. Truck okay. Water is falling slowly. Our family will get past this. Main thing all okay.

Rain has finally stopped, for now. We recorded 19.3" of rain in the past two days from this event. The Vermilion river has leveled off where we are:

We can pass just fine through this section. The lowest part where there is a coulee crossing is a different story. Roughly four feet deep at the moment. We paddle across on the way to the grocery store this morning:

Needed Miller Lite and a brisket to smoke.

Continued prayers for everyone to stay safe, and for a quick drying out.

My bunch is safely at my oldest daughters. House ended up with about 2 feet in it. Car has a lot in it also. As I understand, from an insurance man on TV, comprehensive will cover car. We will get in the house asap and start cutting out wet sheet rock and try to save what we can. Main thing we all safe, that is a relief. God blessed me with some fine men as SIL's.

Prayers sent for all effected.

Danny, so glad your family is safe. Things can be replaced/repaired, lives can't. I must admit I felt a little shell shocked when we got home from our grocery store adventure. The paddling down the driveway, driving through high water, and seeing the damage to peoples homes along the way was disheartening. The grocery store was crazy busy. Listening to peoples conversations, it sounded like many were displaced. We saw Tal there too.
I did find one individual who was enjoying the day in our marsh area of the backyard. :) Brought a needed smile to our faces. He/she was dinner plate sized. Randy thinks it's an Eastern Slider.

Better than my turkey sandwich. We got em settled in. Will be a long ordeal. Bummed when we realized we gonna have to repair with permits or we won't get electricity.Gonna be a while. Will probably cancel the 32 night trip we been planning for 2 years. Was leaving in 12 days. Oh well. No telling what the cost will be, but there are thousands in the area in the same fix. Many had no flood insurance, because the water never been this high before.
