    Default Thank You Louisiana

When I Log onto CDC and scan through all the States to get to Louisiana, I am always looking at all of the Northern States that do not have anyone looking or Posting !!!! Being Retired I check CDC several times a Day. Finding several always makes my Day. But thinking about all those Northern States where day after Day nothing is happening, I Feel Truly Blessed that all of you share so much with everyone that Love Crappie. Merry Christmas

You said it Larry, sharing is caring. The fishing is secondary and the friendships are the greatest.

Ive spent some time up north chasing crappie in Washington State.....My opinion is....while they are there...theyre just too dang hard to catch. The lakes are massive and ridiculously deep. and with the abundance of pike, muskie and trout and walleye, large and smallmouth bass, the crappie quality suffers in most smaller lakes. Ive been able to find them, but they were the skinniest poorly looking crappie Ive ever seen. Couldnt hardly fillet 'em. I have seen reports of trout fisherman accidentaly stumbling on a school of big whites on bigger lakes, but its seldom. Everybody up north loves their trout and walleye..and to be honest, when it comes to the corn meal and peanut oil, Id have to say walleye may have a hand up on our good ol crappie.
Edit: forgot about Yellow Perch...thats another one that sway people from crappie. And compete in the same waters.

For some stupid reason - I guess I totally missed the point of the original post.(may have been after I took my ambien last night)
..while some of that may be the reason for the lack of visitors in the other states forums..Whatever the reason is...I too am very grateful for being able to correspond with a great group of guys that share the same passion as I do. The friendliest, most helpful forum Ive had the pleasure of being a part of.
