Bruce I had a friend, may he rest in peace, that every year he and his wife would pull a small camper and head to Yellowstone. Along the way they always stoped in Estes Park for a few days and a few other nice spots in Co and WY. They would leave here every Labor Day and would stay in Yellowstone until the first snow. After that first snow melted they would return home. I've seen some of the pictures they took along the way. It's a beautiful country we live in I just wish that I can see more of it before I leave it for good.

Yes it is beautiful Gene.....we have been to Yellowstone also.....but Colorado is our favorite destination....we have been there many times in our 23 years together.....if you would ever go there, get with me....I could help you with what to go see....I understand now that Lafayette has a direct flight to Denver.....you can make a 5 day driving trip from there and see plenty....the best time of year to go is the 3rd week of September.....Aspens are turning golden yellow....kids are in school so no fighting the crowds and I never make hotel reservations in advance......no problem ever in finding a place to stay the night....just drive till late afternoon or dark and stop where you want.....I sincerely encourage you to make the time to go while you can....it is a life changing experience.....

Thanks for the tips Bruce. Linda hates mountains and the only way I can drive through them is if we have to get to the other side to reach our destination. The mountains are never our destination. To her low rolling hills are mountains and real mountains are evil. A few years ago we were driving back from San Diego and went through Las Vagas. We crossed the Hover Dam and drove over the continental Divide on I-40. We were driving in fairly flat high desert when she saw a sign that said we were at 6 or 8 thousand feet she started to get pail and in a panic because we were so high. I thought is was funny and asked her is she thought we would fall off or something. Take care my friend.

bring your sweater.....
Sounds excellent, showed Ann the temperature forecast there. She said I would have to tote extra socks to wear in bed at night
We are looking forward to the pictures while you folks are on the road.
