THE 2ND BigEyeCrappieMan Event of 2024
The Shootout at The Smoke Stack Part 2

Wow ! what a Beautiful Day the Lord made for us at Harris Lake NC.

29 Teams showed up to participate in the Shoot out at the Smoke Stack. The morning had very comfortable Temperatures and a slick lake surface almost like glass. The Fish bite was a little slow in the morning but then the Sun Popped Out ! and started heating the water up. The Fun started. Teams who didn’t have a Fish at Lunch started bringing them in. Lots of Good Fish were brought to the scales. Several over two pounds were weighed in.

It was Team Jesus Anthony Blanding and Edwardo Bunting who would Win this Shootout as they Wrangled up 7 Beautiful Fish pushing the scales down to 13.35 pounds. 2nd Place went to a new Team this year of Matt McCracken and Austin Hill who weighed in 12.50 lbs Third Place again this week went to the very consistent team and the Father and Son team of Eddie Clifton and Scott Clifton who had 12.38 lbs. Fourth Place went to another New Team Rodney Tuttle and Darrell Haynes who had 12.00 lbs. 5Th Place went to the Hard Charging Team of Bryan Perry and Jonathan Rimmer who brought in 7 good ones that weighed in at 11.90 lbs. and Rounding out the Top 6 was the Team of Jason Evans, Brent McDonald, Jay Ingraham and Wayne Shaw who had 11.50 lbs. The Big Fish of the Day was a Beautiful Monster Crappie weighing in at 2.39 lbs caught by Rodney Farris.

During our Devotion Time we remembered our Crappie Fishing Brother Danny McDaniel who is with the Lord now and we prayed for his son Travis who was injured in a Motor Cycle accident this week. A Special Thank you goes out to Martin Southard who donated some extra cash to beef up the Pay Back. Martin’s Team is a Newer team that started with us last year. So when you see him tell him thank you. Thank You Martin ! The Word of the day was Friend. How God wants to be our friend. We read from Romans 5 where it says we were enemies of God but that through the Life, Death and Resurrection of His Son Jesus we can become his friend. We talked about the rising and the setting of the Sun. We talked about how every morning when we wake up we tell those closest to us “ Good Morning” and every night when we go to bed we tell those closest to us “ Good Night “ God tell us every morning “ Good Morning “ with the rising of the Sun which he made and put there for us to give us light and warmeth and Food. And in The evening when the Sun Goes to bed “ He Tells us “Good Night “ for He Causes those things to happen. And those closest to Him will know what he is saying because they have believed in His Son Jesus and his sacrifice. Those that are not close to him or not his friend will think those things are foolish. When you are a Friend of God he opens your mind and your heart to His Love, to his Word and to understand his creation and how it also speaks Wonders of its Creator. But most importantly when God tells us Good Morning by raising the Sun up we need to say Good Morning back to him. Just like others do when we tell them good morning. We say Good Morning back to him in a Prayer. The Birds do every morning. The fish jump out of the water. The Trees and Grass reach out to him. We need to say good morning back to Him by Praising the Creator of all things who gave His only Son Jesus so that we could be with him in Heaven. Now that is a Relationship with our God and now our Friend. Thank You Jesus. When the Sun Goes down and God says Good Night. We need to thank Him for being there with us through out our day regardless of the circumstances. When we are talking to God we are talking to the One who Loves us more than anything on earth. And he wants to be your friend. If you want to be his friend ask Jesus for he is the Way. Thank You Jesus.
