Default Memories of Tuckertown Boo Drops 13 yrs ago... How many are still with us?

Great times and fellowship with these Crappie.com members on this leg of our Bamboo Drop Project. This is part the Tuckertown drop, we did Tuckertown, High Rock, and also Jordan Lake. I had to write a fish study plan and have it approved by Alcoa at the time and NC Wildlife Resource Commission to get their permission. I'll try to pictures of different members if there is any interest from ya'll.

I remember that well. I wasn't at the Jordan project and was out of town when brush was dropped in Tuckertown but we got all built in 1 day and most dropped in a day. Great times!

I’m curious to know the fishing results on these over the following 5-10 years. Did it yield great results? What percentage of drops were fruitless and why? I dropped quite a bit of bamboo in Norman in the Hagers Creek area, but the results were sparse at best. Then again, crappie fishing for me at least has been on a steady decline on Norman for the last 15 years or so. Most of my fishing has been between markers 10-13 and associated creeks.

Was not in on the tuckertown drop, but was at high rock when those were made, hauled a big load on bamboo all the way from Waxhaw to High Rock. Saw some pictures of that outing not too long ago but can't remember how I found it. Do any of you remember the outings promoted by a guy, Mark Gromlivtz (sp) Thats what started me in crappie fishing. ncnat, painterfish, pop pop, crap king, were some of the names I remember. Never did get the cordinates of the drops!!

I didn't fish all of the spots were bamboo was dropped, some coordinates listed weren't quite where brush was but generally speaking I did well on those. We dropped 4 buckets of bamboo per spot, basically the idea was drop a bucket off each corner of the boat, and I think that made a big difference.

I remember those gatherings! I have wondered where some of those guys you mentioned and some others are now. PM me your email address, I'm pretty sure I still have the coordinates.

Default Hard to know without everyone’s input

It would be hard to gauge without detailed info from the other participants who actually fished the drops. Myself, I fished some of the High Rock and Tuckertown drops. Some were good, others weren’t. Then I lost interest in fishing for a few years so I can’t speak to the last few years.
