    Default Moss lake Kings Mountain

I decided to save gas dollars and fish in lakes nearer home. Lake Murray in Columbia has been my go to lake for stripers and catfish. First lake I tried near home, 25 miles, was Moss Lake near KM>

bought an annual permit after talking to one of the employees there.

Long story short, spent five hours on Moss did not catch a fish. Trolled with buck tails, silver spoon, and soft bait.
Worst was I lost confidence in the lake as the sonar practically showed no fish even with the fish alarm system on.

Talked to two other fishermen and they had spent about the same time on the lake and caught one large mouth and one spotted bass.

Don't fish for crappie so its hybrids that interest me.
Is the lake a viable lake for hybrids??

Any advice is welcome. I trolled all the fifty plus water I could find from the dam area to the big Island up the lake.

The hybrids I've caught there are about 12 to 14 inches, I catch a few every trip while crappie fishing. moss is a hard lake to figure out, I have fished it 30 years.

    Thank you.
Do you know if they still stock hybrids each year or not?

I was given a map of the crappie structures, so jigging around the structures produces hybrid catch?

Trolling with anything other than jigs is probably not productive....
