Thread: Badin Lake - Alcoa access being turned into a park?

I was at church last night and was talking with a fishing buddy, and he tells me that the town of Badin (?) is turning the Alcoa landing boat ramp into a park. Essentially the ramp will still be there with a handful of boat parking spots, but they are taking almost all of the parking and the land adjacent to it to build a city park.

I have some strong thoughts about that, but does anyone have any more info on that? Who controls that ramp? Who is in charge of this project? Is anything being done to mitigate the loss of that access and the parking that it provides? Has anyone thought about what that is going to do to the other ramps that are already overcrowded at times?

That will hurt. I don't fish badin a ton but that is the ramp I use when I do. I have seen trucks parked all under the trees. It gets full quick on nice days.
