    Default Boat Batteries

I would like for you to share with me what you connect to your cranking battery and what you connect to your deep cycle battery. I have had two dealers to tell me only connect your motor to your crank battery and everything else to your deep cycle. Then, two dealers told me to connect only the trolling motor to the deep cycle and everything else to the cranking battery.

Please give me your input on this.
    Thanks

I have the big motor & the console gauges/switches hooked up to the starter battery .... the trolling motor & my Hook 7 hooked up to the trolling motor battery .... and the Livescope & Garmin 93sv UHD unit hooked up to their own separate battery.

    Starter battery is a series 27 .... TM battery is a series 29 .... LS/93sv battery is a 68ah AGM

I got 5 batteries in the boat. Trolling motor takes 2, i for the cranking battery, 1 for the Humminbirds and a small lithium battery for the livescope.

Only the trolling motor hooked to the deep cycle batteries. The motor, lights, gauges, bilge pump, livewell pump, navigation lights, and a 5 inch side scan all hooked to the starting battery. All the lights are LEDS the side scan doesn't draw much, the bilge pump draws a little, the livewell pump cycles on and off on a timer. I keep jumper cables if I need to jump from the trolling battery to the starting battery if needed. With this boat it has not been needed. The new 4 stroke outboards start quickly and have decent output from the alternator. If I think my battery is getting low I crank the motor and idle a while to replenish the battery. You can get a battery condition gauge that will tell you the level of discharge to the starting battery

Cranking has motor, console, and depth finder on console. Trolling has trolling motor and the front depth finder which I don't use much.

I have 2 deep cycles for the trolling motor only. One battery for starting, lights, live well and bilge pumps. And one battery for the electronics.

Often times connecting your graphs to the trolling motor battery will cause electrical interference when the tmotor is pulling current

I have 2 deep cycle batteries connected to my trolling motor, another connected to my electronics and the separate cranking battery runs the outboard, lights, bilge pump and livewells.
