Don't you catch more in warmer water areas of the lake in the spring??? Kinda the same idea
Tuesday we fished a major creek coming into a main lake. The water was four degrees cooler where we fished than the main lake. To me that's a significant difference. We caught quite a few dinks (40+), eight inches or less. We managed 12 keepers, three of which were 12". We picked up some bait fish on the depth finder but not enough to make me feel there were lots in the area. The water depth was 8 to 10 feet were we caught fish. Almost all were caught on jigs. Were the cooler water temps the reason?
I know, your going to ask what creek, what lake? I'm more interested in your thoughts about the water temps.
I only fish the two best days of the year, when its raining and when its not!

I certainly seek out temperatures that are more to my liking
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
You would think Cooler water = more oxygen = more bait = more crappie in the fall as temps fall. They do love cover, but are going to follow the shad this time of year. Probably more to do with the shad which start moving up into the creeks this time of the year than temps. Now stripers are a different story. A few degrees can make all the difference in the world with them.
Fished a creek Friday evening that is normally a few degrees cooler than other parts of the lake. Nothing but spotted bass and a hybrid to show for it.
