Festus you have seen two of the greats in this thread. Special K wrote the study sheets on crappie fishing. You should search his feeds for Crappie 101 on this forum. Some of the best stuff you can ever read. Mac Crappie dedicated to catching and learning all he can about crappie fishing and is willing to help anyone that wants to learn. They are my go-to people and I can't say enough good things about either of them.

Sea Dancer I moved to Raleigh last year and with COVID have hard time making new friends or fishing buddy’s only problem is I’m 30yrs away from retirement so week days do not work. I have a 96 ranger 461 which can barley squeeze through the current townhouse garage I am currently living in. Have been a avid crappie fisherman all my life on the yadkin chain although seems like fish bite a little differently up this away. I was raised cut down a tree drop it on a good location then come back a week later with scratch feed to sweeten the pot and pray after that the pile was loaded with fish. Also have recently started learn since moved further to eastern side of state how to fish saltwater a little. Maybe we can go wet a hook together sometime fresh or salt just enjoy fishing all together but love to eat what i catch.
Thanks for the reply yadkinboy86. You are right about the difference in the area and the lakes. I live right on the line between clear green water (west) and tanic tea colored water(east). As close together as Harris and Jordan are to each other they are as different as they can be as to what the crappie want. Things will get better now that school has started back. I will start looking for crappie in Jordan in Sept. but I like oct. right on through to March. I don't like the spawn because most (want to be) fishermen think that is the only time a crappie eats all year.
I have tried on many occasions at jordon. I see why people don't fish in the summer.
I am trying.
Sea Dancer and Mac Crappie I sent you a PM
