    Default Men from the boys

I think this time of year is when that separation happens. I want to fish, but I don't actually want to go. To put it into perspective, I live 60-70yds from Lake Norman, though Im not actually "lake front". 3.2 miles to the closest public (private, pay to launch, ramp), which is about 1 mile as the crow flies, from the house. That said, I hate fishing LKN in the summer. You've got about 2 hours on the weekend from sun up until the pleasure boaters, skiers, and jet skis start to come out, never mind the ever present glitter jet green carpers.

That said, I love fishing other lakes, but man, is it hard to get up at 4:00 on a Saturday, to get to another less pleasure oriented lake and be on the water before the sun gets high and starts to do its thing. Any one else struggle with this or just me? haha

I like fishing at night as well, but here lately, even during the week, the traffic never seems to stop. I can sit in my house at night and usually still hear a fountain or Danzi going by, and I live back up Mountain Creek.

I'll be glad when it starts getting light a little later and I don't have to get up at 4:00-4:30 to beat the sun. I already get up at 5:00 during the week lol.

I usually fish Marinas because of the no wake zones they have. Keeps a lot of the wave boats and jet skis at bay.

Nothing like having to swish the rod in the water t clear the ice out of the guides. Seems the more miserable the weather the better the crappie bite. Here lately I have been having to keep the sweat wiped from my eyes. It was how enough the cork grip on the rod was wet from sweat. Had to ride around a little to cool off

Lol winter time is easy pickings. Usually the colder the better. I might just chase women this weekend rather than fish

Very true. Takes balance and skill to surf the wake boat wave while on deck of a boat with the jetskis buzzing around like overgrown misquitoes. All while trying not to heat stroke in the summer sun. All that is still safer than chasing women. At least some of the ones I have chased

You’d be better off in the long run fishing
