    Default Harris report

Got on the water around 7:30 this morning with the intentions of finding fish on brush in 18-20 fow. That was true at the first spot not far from the ramp but after trying many different combinations and presentations, the fish just didn’t want to eat. Headed to the next spot and started graphing in 20 fow but did not find any brush or fish until I hit 14 fow. Marked three brush piles and caught fish on every one throwing a mixture of blue/chartreuse baits, all around 9-12” fish. The bigger fish were on the pile closest to main lake. Left there and went up to what I call the north fork and was skeptical due to the number of pleasure boaters but found fish stacked on the power line poles. Caught one then took a wake over the bow so I left. Finished the day checking my first spot and convinced a few of them to eat. Used livescope all day and to those that are still saying it’s cheating, hasn’t used one yet. Watched fish all day swim up to my bait and turn away. All fish were released to live another day.

I appreciate your taking the trip from Raeford and for giving us a report on your day at Harris. I have been mainly fishing for bass this year, but I've rigged up several rods for crappie/bluegill for a panfish trip to Harris or Jordan Lake pretty soon. While I certainly do appreciate a working man (bravely) fishing when they can on the weekends with all the summer boat traffic; I can assure you that my fishing plans include as few pleasure boaters as possible on Harris or anywhere else (on the weekends for a while)... so I'm sure I will try to pick a mostly cloudy day with a little wind, sometime during the week to formulate my particular attempts at finding fish. Thanks for sharing your trip to Harris with the rest of us.
