Yes sir be glad to have ya, getting out of ones comfort zone will definetly make them a better more well rounded fisherman and in this environment with a good group of guys your/our learning curve is a lot quicker, we learn from each other, sometimes it’s what to do, sometimes what not to do, lol

hmmm not sure of the exact question but here is a little background on me and the beginings of this trail, i fished my very first crappie tournament in 2009 down in sc at fishing creek in sept with the southern crappie trail, there were 52 boats in it, we came in 26th place and were lucky to get that, the fellas that won were a grandpa and his grandson in an aluminum boat that didnt even have a depth finder, they just pulled up to a visible piece of wood and vertically jigged it. there were 60k shiny rangers all the way to aluminum boats that you weren't sure if they would float or not, but the boat didnt catch the fish electronics werent a big factor and in that one, not at all. the field was level for everybody and thats what were seeking to bring back to the sport, to level the field again, there is no doubt that livescope is a difference maker more than any other single piece of electronics out there and back in the winter me and the wife were getting our stuff ready and overheard a few fellas talking about this was gonna be there last season because they weren't getting a livescope and didnt feel like they could compete without one, that bothered me all day because part of coming to these tournaments is getting to see old friends and making new ones. some of these guys have been doing it longer than i have been alive, guys we've have got help from and have helped out along the way, towed in, laughed with, beat by an ounce and gotten beaten by an ounce, and just shared alot of good times with, and i wanted to create an environment where everyone could come out and compete and feel like they stood a good chance to win, and thus this trail was born

we are made up of folks from all walks of life, from kids fishing with there parents to folks in there 80's, but don't let'em fool ya, we all want each other to catch fish, but we all want ours to be a hair bigger than the rest of the field, LOL

if you like to catch crappie, see some different scenery, explore some new waters and have a bit of a competitive side and don't mind a slice of humble pie once in a while i think you'll have a great time and thats why we do it

this meeting is to help work out the details and get feedback from everyone that wants to participate so we can come to an agreement on a name, rules and lakes and entry fees, payback and whatever else you can think of because i want everyone to have a say in how and what goes on, to be a part of this, this is for the fisherman. how its run and the decisions that will be made will be voted on thursday and we invite any and all that are interested to come

Can't make the meeting but would be interested in fishing this trail. Like TreednNC, never tourny fished so it would be a first and lots of new Waterston learn on.

That’s exactly what I was looking for. Just wasn’t sure what the basis of the meeting was about. Whether it was remnants of an old trail trying to become new again, completely new start up, a club turning to tournies, etc. I think you summed it up well. I’ll be there. Thanks

Also interested but won’t be able to make the meeting. I like the idea of one tournament per month rather than a whole series crammed into three months. Working every other weekend doesn’t leave much room to visit new lakes in a crammed schedule series. Gives more time to the working guy to prefish and learn new lakes. Also like the idea of a two day championship.
