Anybody tried any cranks yet? Bout that time. May go to the rock Sunday and try them. Granddaughter has a birthday party Saturday so that day is out.

Happy Birthday to your grand daughter! I have never fished cranks for crappie. Is there specific time you do this or can you fish for them most all year? The reason asked is that people report catching crappie just about all year in 15 to 20 foot in 30 foot of water.

You can fish them all year. I often do, but you do better during warmer months. From about now till end of summer is best. I usually pull bandit 300s or similar so I can pull down 16 to 18 foot and just look for the schools of shad. Crappie will be right there as well.

I'd like to do that. I got these laying around here collecting dust.

I have tried tillery many times. Tough for cranks. Well worth the drive to high rock. Tillery is 20 minutes from me and high rock over an hour but still worth the drive

I am finished at school in three weeks. Wide open to go anytime after that.
