Default Interesting Circumstances in Recent BigeyeCrappieman Tournaments

Been some interesting BigeyeCrappieman tournaments lately. Couple of weeks ago the fog on Jordan was so thick that the moon went dark and one thing I have never--never had happen: the GPS signal barely worked!!! We were the #1 team and had launched by 5:30. We just made it to our fishing spot by 7:00. We had a long run to our spot and most of it was at 10 mph. Any faster and we lost connection with the satellite. We could barely see the length of the boat and with the moon blackened out, I had to use the electronics to run. All of a sudden, the boat symbol started dancing around and I had no idea where I was going. Under 10 mph it would re-connect. We had to travel from the 64 bridge to the Farringrton bridge and you guys know that there is a narrow channel getting between the timber left in the water. That was one of the most harrowing boat trips I have ever been on. Charles has the Humminbird Solix 12 with the 2.0 map, so I don't mind driving in the dark.

Yesterday on Falls was another one of those once-in-a-lifetime event. Fortunately it happened to a number other guys as well. There was so much pollen in the water, that it blacked out our LiveScope. I did not realize it was the pollen and twice I went back and reset the factory defaults. We talked to another team nearby and they were having the same problem. Once back at the weigh-in, found out that all the LiveScope teams lost their signals because of not just pollen on the surface, but throughout the water column.

The championship is this coming Saturday and let's hope for a normal Saturday on the lake!!

Being on the water can bring up some interesting situations. The first one was scary. Don't like to be other there when I can't see anything. Saw a man who did that and had a log sticking out the front of his Ranger boat! Glad you were safe.

A very good piece of information for sure, although I have not experienced anything like that to date. Thanks for sharing.

Had same problem with gps and maybe that same day . Only difference was mine would act up under 10mph. But above that it worked normal. But it was a picker butt morning for sure.

The pollen thing is normal per this time of year, as is also a very heavy fog, about like going under a concrete bridge, it’s not good to be 100% reliant on electronics , what bothers me about driving in the dark is those hidden floating obstacles
