    Default Buying new fishfinder

I am going to update my old hummingbird fish finder, which is an old black and white model. I am looking at the Helix 7 series, not sure witch is the best for me. I fish mostly for crappie, brim, and catfish, I try to make several trips to fish the ICW every year. After that I am getting a trolling motor that has a spot lock and other features that I can put to good use. I need to be able to use in saltwater, and hopefully compatible with each other. Any and all information will be appreciated.

I had a Helix 7 on my last boat, and have a G4 Helix 9 on my current boat. The imaging is great on those units.

Get the "N" model if you are getting a Trolling Motor in the future and plan on connecting your Helix to it.

I fished on a friends boat this weekend, 2 new helix
7's. I know lowrance's and garmins. I personally didn't find the down images as good.
Now I may not have been able to adjust just rite?

If I was gonna get a Helix I would go with at least a 8 instead of the 7 because of the mega plus imaging and also I believe that I read where the new mega live that bird is supposed to be coming out with just is compatible with the mega plus units that are g3n or the newer g4n. I use g3n 10 and 7 inch birds and really like mine. Also use an ultrex trolling motor on my old beat up 94 Javelin
