    Default Jordan / Harris

My fishing buddy and I headed to Jordan Friday after hearing that ramps were open. Seaforth was open, but water was too high to launch our boat. Only 2 trailers in the parking lot. Changed course and headed to Shearon Harris. We went out more to run the boat than to fish. Did longline some jigs around the power lines and a few other areas where we saw fish on the locator. No good. Saw some of the dying shad that others are talking about. Good news is that the boat ran well and is ready to use as the weather and water levels improve. Talked to 5 others who all had same results, Water temp was 50-51 and stained. Hope the rest of you had better fishing than we did.

Thanks for the update. Question: Did you see any evidence of the shad die-off continuing or does it appear that it's pretty much run its course?? When I went a week or so ago, seagulls were swarming everywhere and there were lots of dead shad floating almost everywhere you went. I hope to hit Harris again in the next few days... but last week it appeared that the fish (bass was what I was after) were all pretty gorged out on shad and not biting anything I threw at 'em.

We launched from Holeman and saw a large flock of seagulls on the main lake. Where we fished, we saw a few shad struggling under the surface, but we did not see many dead shad floating.
Thanks Special K thanked you for this post
