High Rock Stripers

Fished the Striped Bass Challenge on Saturday Jan 9th. 95 entries and 1 boat weighed fish. 2 fish 12.2 lbs. now I’m not a striper expert but thought I could catch at least one. Prefished Saturday Jan 2nd and Wednesday Jan 7th and did not get a bite then either. The winner won $20,000 for 1st, tricked out golf cart for big fish and $1,500 in BPS gift cards for youth angler. Since no one else weighed fish 2nd thru 10th was drawn out of a hat. 2nd was $5,000 down to 10th was $1,000. Lady angler won $3,000 and was drawn out of the hat. Great tournament. Some of the BEST striper fishermen from all over were there but no fish.

I’m no striper expertmyself but the next time you try for them, try eds spinnie, they lovem, I was on greenwood this past week and the stripers wouldn’t leave us alone, but guys actually fishing for them weren’t getting any, I know we talked to several of them

Yes they did kiss and tell lol. 4 Hispanics caught them insight of Abbott’s Creek landing and used “shiners”. Not sure if they had a boat��

My friend and coworker is the hardest fishing guy I know and has done pretty well over the years. He pre-fished 3 days and never got a bite and fished yesterday without one. It seems HR needs a little something.

I think they did put stripers in the lake in 2020. First time in like 10 years or so.

There is plenty of food for them. Should grow fast and fat.

That is the problem, the state stocks trout in our county lake but do not worry about striper. Trout all the time .

I fished it too. Prefished it multiple times with no luck. That lake is full of bait but no fish. I reached out to NC Wildlife to complain about how pitiful NC striper fishing is when compared to Tennessee and also South Carolina.
