Default What has happened to High Rock

I use to fish HR a few times during the year, but I have not seen any encouraging post on HR lately.

Does it have anything to do with the "Mat" of stuff that was talked about last year?

    Thanks for any input

I have been there 4 times in the last month looking for stripers. Havent been able to catch one yet. It is about the muddiest lake I have ever fished.

All the mud is the result of Piss Poor farming practices all up the Yadkin basin. It looks to me like one third of the main lake is mud flats that used to be farmland from upstream.

High Rock is the first of the Yadkin chain and there is a LOT of distance between it and Kerr Scott in Wilkesboro so it catches a LOT of mud from many creeks and rivers above. Especially in the last year or 2 since it rains buckets instead of drizzle High Rock will get the worst of any big rain. I realize Cube has other lakes to manage, but they could let more water out to help. I was in the area this morning and it looked the best I've saw since November. If it stays dry for a couple weeks I think fishing can pick up.
