Very true Sea Dancer. With so many white perch mixed in it would very easy to keep a white bass thinking it was a perch. All of the white bass I caught were around 13 inches and just shy of the 14 inch minimum and look very similar to the white perch.

I caught a mixture of both white bass and white perch. I got skunked on the brim that day. LOL!

When fishing Jordan Lake many years ago... I struggled mightily learning the subtle differences between white perch, white bass, hybrid bass, and stripers during various phases of their respective growing cycles or (ages).
I guess the hybrids have pretty much died out... because I don't recall catching any for (probably) about 10 or 12 years. How about anyone else. Has anyone caught any hybrid bass on Jordan??? Have any been restocked???

I caught six about the end of Sept. They were busting shad early in the morning and I caught them on a topwater bass plug. They were all about 15" and I was sure they were stripers. I have not seen a hybrids in many years in Jordan. After the big die-off several years ago the wildlife said they would not stock stripers in jordan again but I heard that they did a couple yrs ago.. They seem to be a little tight lipped about what they do. Kinda like some fishermen I know. LOL

Jordan went through a fish kill probably while you were gone. It became a dead zone and everyone stopped fishing it. That caused Harris to be overfished and it got bad but by that time Jordan had bounced back with the help of stocking lots of baitfish and many game fish. Both lakes are in good shape right now. I really like the limits that were imposed on Jordan. Lots of things can happen in 12 years.. Welcome back.

    Thanks,
I've had a really hard time at Harris for crappie and bass, 8-10 trips this yr. Had been able to mark lots of bait fish and can't get em to bite.
Jordan is a whole different story, have done well their.
