Went out on the Black a couple times the first week in November and had some decent action. Made a new PB! Exactly 2 pounds and 16" and change. We don't grow em quite as as large in the down east rivers as they grow in the piedmont lakes. Maybe it's the fact that they're always burning calories fighting the current? I've heard that theory before. No huge schools of gizzard shad to gorge on? Heard that one. Doesn't matter, I found one. On the day I left my net In the car, too! So that made it a fiasco getting it into the kayak, but it all worked out. These trips last week were only very brief sessions before work, 45 mins or an hour max. I believe these are pics from 3 short trips all within 5 days or so. Same pattern as usual; looking for either roaming schools in the open or keying in on brush or laydowns. So far this year the roaming schools have been the ticket. Who knows what rearranging the river will do to the pattern. As of two days ago, they're biting pretty good this fall in the down east, tidal waters.
