    Default High Rock

I have only been living in this area for a little over a year now and primarily only fished at Jordan and not much of that. I have been to flat swamp twice and without much success. Can anybody point me in a good direction on high rock? Any tips for high rock?

Most of the guys do well with docks and brush. I like to move around so am pulling jigs or crankbaits. Last time I went a few weeks ago, they were tight to the bottom so we only caught a few on crankbaits. Soon they will follow the shad in the creeks as it cools down and be scattered. Then my jig pulling or crankbait pulling will show some good results. Right now I would be fishing structure or close to the bottom for a few more weeks.

Went to High Rock today and boat wouldn’t stay running. Decided I would just troll the close by areas. Baitfish were everywhere and I spider-rigged eight rods and nothing would bite from 8ft deep down to 20 feet deep. I was picking up fish everywhere and nothing would touch the minnows. I finally managed 12 crappie with only two of those bigger than a pound. Maybe the cold front the moved on but I have no idea. I fished above and below the baitfish and sometimes in the middle of them. There was so many they were coming up under my rods.

I spider rig almost all the time. I have lines on the bottom to 12 ft. Down. I usually fish 20-25 ft of water this time of year. Most of my fish are caught around 16 ft down. Nccrappie check your pm
