I agree with what your saying about the live scope and 360, I wanted to fish some of the Yadkin river trail series, but I don’t stand a chance without the equipment that those guys have. The last 2 tournament results posted on here reflect what I’m saying, first three places for cash are livescope fishermen. Nothing wrong with it, I just don’t have the funds to invest in the equipment.

Don't let electronics stop you! I fish with a 5" Hummingbird 598. Did just as well as Gobbler at Highrock and I believe said he has Livescope. I plan on fishing both Yadkin and Fish the Carolinas. In my mind even if you place well (Which I have a few times) there is ALWAYS something to learn!

I have the older panoptix. You can still compete with guys with 10k in electronics. I fish a lot of bass tournaments and watch people get intimidated by big graphs and all the tech. And then you see guys roll up in a jon boat with two rods and a sack of fish. It’s all useful if you spend a lot of time learning how to utilize the tech but trying to avoid fishing against it it futile. In two years the stuff we have now going to be obsolete and something new is going to come out and change fishing again. Just my two cents.

Default Non livescope / 360 tournament

It’s funny how people think when you got livescope you win every tourney. Livescope can help locate them just like 2d can help
Locate bait. Just like side imaging can locate structure. You still got to catch them. If your not in an area where big fish are it don’t matter anyway. We have spent hundreds of hours looking at the livescope screen per the past two years and I can honestly say you may catch 25 percent of the big tournament fish you actually see. I support a non livescope tourney as much an an artificial only tourney as well. I don’t care if it’s a no electronics tourney. Anyone that knows me knows I just love to fish have fun and want anyone on the fence thinking about fishing a tournament to join in. The friendships I’ve made well outweighs any winning ls to me. 100 percent honest

Would really love to join you all out there someday for one of your clashes. To make it really "fair" why not leave all electronics in the parking lot? Just my opinion, don't let me slow ya down.

I was actually pretty good at using it but sold it to my BIL, but for reasons that might make some laugh or some may relate. I realized one day while fishing with my sons that I had been drifting away from what made fishing (any fishing) special for this old soul..and it was the mystery and ANTICIPATION of things while on the water or in the woods. Let me add that i'm also a weekend warrior with 3 sons (shadows lol) who are always with me when they're not in HS sports. Seeing fish on my sonar and seeing them on livescope were 2 totally different things for us..yeah my kids love their video games during the rare time they're not in the outdoors or chasing girls but after a few trips they said the fun of the hit was not knowing when it was coming..the tick, the thump..was like a jump scare to them. Then came the 9" -10" - 11" crappie that was always awesome every time it flopped on the deck became "not bad" or "kinda small". The old saying "to each their own" is as true now as ever, but for this old guy I realized their are some things, like my first lab, that can't ever be replaced no matter the price tag and my hope is that Livescope (as it becomes more widespread and affordable) doesn't rob future generations of fisherman from experiencing some of the special things about being on the water by staring at the screen all day like we were doing. (red tail hawks screaming, beavers swimming, ducks, deer on the shore, squirrels running thru the trees and so many others). God bless everyone.

Your post is true nationwide on the vast majority of crappie tournaments..irrefutable fact. But there’s always a chance to do well but would but would require a lot of past fishing history on the particular lake.
