Plain ball head,no paint or eyes on it,does not matter...
does anyone have a preference on style of jig heads, and do you think painting them is important.do you think eyes are important .
I'm with Countryboy ... all my jigheads used for "casting" are unpainted ball heads. I'd probably be just as happy with them for the jigheads I use for Pushing, but those came painted so I just use them as such. None have "eyes" added, except maybe the Arkies I got as Sponsor Donations at our Spring Fling gatherings.

I like the jig heads that I got from "Lite Wire Hooker" a few years ago. He uses wire hooks to make the jigs so they straiten out if they hang a brush. Look him up in line. Curtis is a great guy.

Everybody and their cousins have been fishing this year. Most fishermen that purchase hooks from me like painted heads. Like the contrast between head and jig body. Some fishermen want a specific eye color.....to each his own. I kinda like orange when longlining because first thing you see is the bright hook in the crappie’s mouth. I’m getting older and need all the help I can get......
