    Default Crankbaits on the rock!


    First summer trip with crankbaits to the rock and had a blast. Took a couple hours to find them but then did pretty good for the last two hours. Kept 9 big crappie and 14 cats that decided they liked cranks too.

    Main lake in about 20’fow. Scattered. Tried for two hours in second creek for only two. Chartreuse or firetiger we’re best colors.

    Had my best luck Monday in main lake but near shore following contours in 13' - 18' of water. Kept 27 all over 11" For fish fry Wednesday. Most were caught on chrome cranks. I have chrome cranks with blue, black, and red backs. Didn't matter which back color as long as it was a chrome crank they were hitting it. Caught 7or8 cats and 3 large mouth bass. Threw them all back. Had to also weed through a lot of dinks but it was fun. A young lady was fishing with me and just watching her excitement made it a great day.

    Different day today on the rock. Been pulling since 7 and got one cat and had one big crappie come off right at boat. Guess all the boat traffic yesterday messed them up where I am at.
