Tev been having trouble with my batteries. One died which I replaced and then two trips later the other died. I replaced it and went Friday but the new battery has a fault. Could only get to about 1mph with my trolling motor so had to pull the cranks with the big motor. Didn’t have my buckets to slow down so trolled 2.1 to 2.2 mph. Too fast but all I could do. I like 1.4 to 1.5. I think that hurt me. I also think the noise from the big motors spooks them some.

Man it's always something. I just recently replaced every battery on my boat. Should be good to go for a while I hope. My problem is the rain. Send to fall everytime I'm off work. Not looking good for Wednesday. AGAIN.

What do you guys think about the spawn. Most of the fish I caught a couple weeks ago still had eggs. Wondering if they have spawned out now that the water has warmed or will they just not spawn this season.

As long as the lake is within a foot or two from full, you should be good. I will not make the run it the lake is down more than that.

You are correct it is tricky. The first Yadkin tournament in Sept ‘19 lake down 4.5 and 2 boats went up. They finished 1st and 2nd. Church tournament the next week lake down almost 5 and 18 boats went up. They finished 1st thru 18th. There is a river channel that is safe but that does not account for debris that has been lodged under the water in the channel. I agree you better know what you are doing but not impossible.

Left side is actually much deeper over all but I've never liked trying to cross the flat up there at any speed with all the debris . If you run slow it just takes forever. I've made the trip a few times this year and its about as full of debris as I ever remember it. The bottom up there is pretty muddy, you'll probably chock down before you break something but that's a big chance to take.

I fish that river more than anything. Every storm changes the flats and dead timber laying around. Not much for stumps except some way back in creeks. Mostly sheet water, mud and logs. When going into Potts keen it trimmed up and don’t let off. Big shallow point across the mouth. If you run that area a lot you gonna hit stuff and bump the bottom. Makes it fun haha
