Went Sunday got there at 7:30 am lot was 3/4 full. Fished up new hope side, 1st stop Mason's reef cove
The one with the 8 ft ridge or hump at mouth that falls off each side to 18-20 plus ft. Using minnows and jigs crappie were on top of Ridge in 8 ft. on the bottom. Caught about 25- 30 all dinks but 4 of them 13". So many ski- tubers boats and wind had to move. Moved up to s-curve coves behind horseshoe islands , same thing to much traffic. So ran to Ebenezer (beaver creeks) same thing boats every where they were pulling tubes next to stump fields (WOW) Caught a few more dinks in 8-10 ft. Gave up crappie fishing and found shallow coves bass were in 1-2 ft of water spawned out but caught 6 nice ones. All fish put back. Ran back to Poe's at 4:00 it was a zoo, took 45 mins. to get trailer in water. Trailers parked on both sides of road passed gate.
I know it's raining alot this week and water will be bad. But I wouldn't even think about going to Jordan or Harris this weekend.

Glad you caught some, was at that ramp Saturday and it was gridlock. No one could leave the ramp and no one could launch, road was so tight you had to wait for someone coming in to let you move into their lane to get by people parked on the side of the road.

My brother and I went to Poe's Friday AM and the bass fishing was unusually slow for us too. We did manage a few small ones, but even on Friday the boat traffic and pleasure boaters were getting crazy as the morning went on.
I made it a policy years ago: In the pleasure craft months of May through September, I don't go anywhere near any public lake during the weekend, because; it is counterproductive to the very reason I go fishing to begin with... and that's peace and tranquility and to hopefully catch a few fish. I can assure you... you cannot find any such peace and tranquility fishing the public lakes on the weekend... only noise, aggravation and total inconvenience. I decided back then... if I come home more stressed out than when I left to go fishing... I just don't need to put myself through it. Thanks for sharing your day with the rest of us.

I've thought about putting in about an hour before dark and then taking out about 10 am. I have a place on Norman and can tie up at my pier at night. The dadgum wake board boats are so bad I don't even want my boat tied up at the pier from about 11-7.

Nice catch Mike. Exactly why I am taking my time buying a boat. Too much traffic on the water to fish at the moment.
