Default JORDAN LAKE BOAT RAMP CLOSURES... 'TIL JULY 1

Hold your 'taters now before people who read this go to thinkin' something that is not correct.

BE PREPARED FOR JORDAN LAKE BOAT RAMP CLOSURES (FOR THE MOST PART) CONTINUING UNTIL JULY 1. THIS IS TOTAL NONSENSE IN MY OPINION.

Here is the exact language of the "PHASED" RE-OPENING PLANS FOR JORDAN LAKE" (posted yesterday at 3:15PM), (including boat ramps), by the empty suits in our "gewberment" who just don't think we have sense enough to proceed safely on our own without their overreaching oversight:

    "Wednesday, May 6, 2020 - 3:13pm

Jordan Lake State Recreation Area /Park Facilities Phased Re-Openings

PHASE ONE (tentative date May 9) - Robeson Creek canoe access and boat ramp will re-open for public use.

PHASE TWO (tentative date May 22) - Crosswinds campground Loops A, B and C, Parker’s Creek campground Loops 1 and 2 and Poplar Point campground Loops B, C, F, G, H and J will re-open. All camping will be by advance reservations only. No First come, First serve/walk in camping. Camping will be restricted and enforced to include - no day visitors permitted, beach areas closed, boat ramps closed, no 24-hour access and gate hours enforced. Shower houses are available, but comfort stations will be closed.

Park Office/Visitor Center, Ebenezer Boat Ramp, Ebenezer Day Use Area, Seaforth Boat Ramp, Seaforth Day Use Area, New Hope, Parker’s Creek Day Use Area, Vista Point and White Oak are closed to the public during phase two including: hiking trails, picnic areas, picnic shelters, boat ramps, beach areas, group campsites and primitive campsites.

PHASE THREE (tentative date July 1) – Re-opening of park facilities closed during earlier phases to include - Park Office/Visitor Center, Ebenezer Boat Ramp, Ebenezer Day Use Area, Seaforth Boat Ramp, Seaforth Day Use Area, New Hope, Parker’s Creek Day Use Area, Vista Point and White Oak. All hiking trails, all picnic areas, all picnic shelters, all boat ramps, all beach areas, group campsites, primitive campsites, Poplar Point campground Loop E, Parker’s Creek campground Loops 3 and 4 are scheduled to re-open." Thanks for the update Special K, that is way more than I knew about. All I heard was what Gov Cooper stated.

Sounds like they are cautious until the thought of losing all the 4th of July money was factored in.

Saw they are opening Poe's Ridge on Saturday.

    𝐅𝐀𝐂𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐒 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄:

We will be opening Poe's Ridge Boat Ramp this Saturday morning. Service will be limited as the restroom will be closed and one of the lanes is closed due to the courtesy dock breaking anchor and floating into the ramp during our last high water event.

At this time, we will also not be collecting any user fees - use of the boat ramp is free.

Additionally, USACE intends to extend the expiration date of all annual passes affected by the closures and user fee suspensions. For example, if the expiration date of your annual pass is April 2020, you will receive time added to the expiration date. The amount of time added will depend on the length of the closures and fee suspensions.

USACE will also extend the expiration date of the Annual America the Beautiful passes (such as the Annual Pass, Annual Senior Pass, Military Pass, etc.) affected by the closures and fee suspensions in a similar manner as the Corps Annual Pass. For example, if the expiration date of your Annual or Annual Senior pass is April 2020, you will receive time added to the expiration date. The amount of time added will depend on the length of the closures and fee suspensions.

Please remember that even as things are opening up, it's still important to practice social distancing.

Thanks for the update. I was not able to find anything on Poe's Ridge... although I only briefly look every few days... but I did know it was closed for renovations.
