    Default Cats and crappie


    Friday we went to a little lake off the pee dee river that can hold lots of crappie in cool weather. Fished for a few hours with nothing. Decided to catch some shad in there and move out to the main river and try cats for a while. Caught 6 in about 3 hours with this monster that weighted in about 52 lbs.

    Now that is a nice catfish right there for sure. I can never resist targeting catfish whenever the notion strikes.

    That’s a nice cat! In addition to shad, crappie heads also make great bait for those big ol’ blues.

    I love crappie heads. If we had caught some crappie, I would have had some heads on.
