    Default Cold Day

Back on Norman this morning, it was 26 when I hit the water. Fished 2 hours and not one bite didn’t even mark bait. So I loaded up the boat back on the trailer and headed down the road to the opposite side of the lake. Back on the water at 12:30 and the wind was terrible. Finally around 2:00 I found the fish stacked like pancakes and not one bird was diving. At 3;45 I had my limit , as I was putting up my rods the last one out went down and was screaming. Felt like I was pulling on a Volkswagen, as it came to the top it was 11 pound blue cat. I caught it on a umbrella rig with 12lb test and 3 out of 5 hooks was pulling it sideways. As I was taking the hooks out to release it that sapsucker stuck me good with its side fin. Made me so mad I told him I would have the last laugh when I put him in a pot of hot grease then I would bite him back. Got to go to Lumberton to see the wife’s family Thursday thru Sunday if weather permitting hope to be back at em on Monday. By the way my birthday is on the 21st so if any of y’all would like to send any gifts like A-Rigs or paddle tail baits just send me a PM and I’ll send y’all my address. Just saying Cold DayCold DayCold Day. Hope y’all have a good weekend and catch some fish.

    Good job Randy.

Do all of the stripers around here have the broken up lines?

I used to see that on hybrids but our stripers had clean lines.

Jig don't catch them all before next week. Got one more day then off for two weeks. Going to see if I can help you out with those stripers just a little.

Good report Jig Puller! Now, I got to say something here. You hooked the catfish and he finned you back for it. You were going to set him free! Then you got mad and threatened him by telling him you were putting him in the grease. Is that fair? You know he is going to make you feel sick with indigestion for that threat! Glad you made it out there. It's better than working in the cold.

I’ll be here until late Saturday afternoon, I’m actually in Pembroke 1/2 a block away from the university here. I got a brother n law Chuck Oxendine and Gene Hall that live here.
Bigdawgg I can’t believe you would think that way , if you want to come up to Norman I’ll put you in the boat if your off work.
Kelbro there hybrids there have been a couple of stripers mixed in over the three weeks I just got use to saying stripers. Living at the outer banks all we caught were stripers but yes about 75% that I’ve caught are hybrids.

Catfish will roll when hooked with a U-Rig. Nothing but dead weight and bloody mess. Nice looking strips. Congrats.
