Buy a new spare hub just in case you do have a bearing problem. It’s easier to change the whole hub with new bearings than to replace or repack bearings on the road. Northern Tool or Tractor Supply should have your size for less than $20. Remember a 12 inch tire is turning a lot more than your truck tires so 81 in the truck may be 100 plus to the trailer.

Spare hub is a great suggestion, and one that I would heed if going a long distance like you said. If you haven’t repacked or greased your bearings I would definitely do that too. Sounds like you’ve got the rest covered.

Make sure all your lights are working. Hate riding behind a trailer when the lights keep blinking off and on . Or they dont have any at all.

I just made sure the tires had good air, lights worked and had a spare just in case. No problems at all even through the PA mountains.

I did have a bit of trouble coming home with the Tahoe though. The alternator went just as I crossed back into NC. I rode on the battery all the way back to Wake Forest and it died right infront of my house! One more stop light and I would of been in trouble Lol

i firmly believe most of your trailering problems come when you fly down the hwy at 80mph, boat trailers aren't designed for that i don't care what you got, i have alot less trouble with my ranger when i keep it less than 70 mph especially on long 10-12 hr trips

I would suggest two spares

Depends on age on trailer. I personally would remove the hubs , clean wheel bearings and repack with grease. If sign of wear replace.

Good to hear RB. something similar happened returning from Truman then t hill. picked up sharp rock at truman, drove all the way up to macon, mo then home next day and tire went flat when I reached my driveway! Sometimes an angel is helping us along like with your trip!
