Finally got a chance to troll some cranks for crappie. Fairly new lake for me so I thought I would try Flat Swamp. Oops, a Whaler center console won't go under the bridge when the lake is this full.
Trolled the 18-20 contours along that shoreline and only hooked up with one nice slab that flipped off at the net. There were two angry 3# cats that came up and tried to destroy the hooks on my cranks.
Catfish dinner instead of crappie is still an OK day. Fresh okra and squash out of the garden to go along with the jalapeņo hushpuppies rounds it all out.

Our jalapeņos are fresh from the garden too. We often use Serranos for a little more 'kick'.
Great in cornbread too.
