Default WHITE PERCH ON LAKE HICKORY

Went to lake hickory to catch crappie but when the crappie wouldn't bite white perch saved the day. Felt like a kid again. Nothing like fast action. Do any of you guys know a lake where they run bigger. I'd like to find some like the Ole fisherman catches.

Lake James has jumbo perch. The trade off is fewer fish but at least they are big. Wylie also has bigger perch, and good numbers.

I think the perch in hickory run smaller because they are stunted due to overcrowding. I've been doing my best to thin them out....

By the way, thanks for your videos I really enjoy them.

PS. I by accident uploaded one of my trout fishing pictures on here! I tried to edit the post to delete that pic but it wouldn't let me. Strange. Hope ya'll dont mind the trout stream in a crappie forum. I'll be more careful next time with my uploads!

That big bay on the right as you go out from rink dam is full of perch always. Look for spaghetti lines criss-crossing on the sonar. Anchor on those fish and drop minnows and nightcrawlers.
