    Default Lake gaston crappies


    Woundering if anybody been crappie fishing on lake Gaston planning a trip couple of weeks any idea what creeks to start would be appreciated

    went yesterday to gaston,some are beginning to move toward the back of a few creeks ,fish to 1;00 before I had a bite ,did not catch many but caught a 2 1/2 ,2 1/4, and a1 5/8 ,took pic of them and put them back,all on jig

    Wow great job genec planning a trip 22nd 23rd of March going out of stonehouse you think lizzard creek and peahill creek is worth a try

    During summer I catch a pile of crappie in Stonehouse but I almost always fish Peahill at some point no matter what season it is. Peahill is a big north side creek so you should be able to find some warmer water especially if this temperature trend continues.

    Thanks mustfish for the info. My best bet to start in the very back of peahill work my way out would that be a good way to start

    peahill is a very long creek,if you start in it then it is hard to fish any other creeks,if you put in the back of it if sun is warming the back and wind is not pulling top water out ,it should be good but if wind is pulling water out,get in creeks where wind is pushing water in no matter which side to the sun,yes lizard creek can be good if wind is pushing in,the same for many creeks
