    Default DNR Fish Attractors

I am wondering if anyone has luck fishing the fish attractors that are listed on DNR website?

They can be rather fruitful in South Carolina and I never see any feedback here for Harris or Jordan. Thanks for any info.

I havent tried them much in the last couple years. Previously, not much luck. But I was starting out 1/2 skeptical so it didnt have much of a chance. I’m curious to learn from some of the good anglers on here.

Many years ago I fished one of the marked structures, but didn't seem to help. I know the Wildlife periodically on Jordan will cut trees down along the shoreline for structure. I've had more success in the areas where they left the trees standing. Better be ready to break off some lines, but I have caught fish in them and heard of others catching good fish in those trees.

if you think the nc wildlife resource commision will do something to actually better your fishing or hunting experience you are gonna have your feelings hurt, those bouys are for show just about like everything the state does, the only thing there to attract a fish is the wieght that holds that bouy to the bottom of the lake, might be a great place to sink some brush though

I have caught fish off some of them at Falls and Jordan. They've started putting out plastic hurdles in recent years and I don't think they show as well on finders as the old stuff.

I watch out for the markers and avoid them,,,,Mostly the one in the center of Bush creek at Jordan..If you get too close longlining jigs,You gona be tying on new jigs for a while.

If they were productive fishing locations you would see boats always fishing around them. I rarely, if ever, see any! I have half heartedly tried a few and did not fare well. Overall, if the WRC commission wanted to improve fishing , they consistently would sink brush piles and christmas tree in the lake rather than building that plastic pvc junk. They are not natural and don't hold fish!

There is a danger buoy in the center as you move on into the channel area. From that marker to the eastern shore (on right as you go up the cove), they left trees in the water. I've been up there when the lake was down four or more feet and there are literally several hundred trees. I've seen people go in that area at full throttle and if only they knew what us just under the surface. If you went through there longlining, I'm sure you found a lot of those trees. Stay to the left of the marker in the channel side of the cove.

Dominion power screwed us by outlawing brushpile construction on Gaston. Go figure.
