    Default Shearon Harris tomorrow 2/2/19

Ok guys....and gals.... need some advice. Heading to Harris tomorrow and giving the slabs a try. Only second time fishing there and just learning to deep water winter crappie fish. Gonna do the usual bottom bumping with minnows and jigs. Could really use some advice on depth and areas of Harris to try to focus on. I have Side View and another down scan with structure scan. Looking areas to focus and colors so that I don’t have to run all over the place so that my wife doesn’t get frozen out. Thanks in advance. If your there and see my boat then feel free to give us a shout and I will share any knowledge I collect..... Blue Alumacraft 18 Pro

Holleman Rd.... figured that is middle way. All of the ramps are about the same distance from home for me.

28-35' feet a couple weeks back. Water temp is probably still the same.

According to my best recollection: late January and early February marked the beginning of when I recall the crappies beginning to scatter somewhat and begin easing back toward the coves and creek arms to begin the transition towards spawning areas. I would guess, therefore, that covering a little more water; working your way along the creek channels in the main lake... finally toward the coves and creek arms while favoring the sunnier exposures as the day goes on might logically be as good of game plan as any. I would still bet the bottom bouncing a minnow on a Carolina Rig (25 - 28 fow) (two or three turns off the bottom) would be productive enough to get a quite respectable mess.

I think I passed right by you today. I was in the black Tracker deep vee. Things were crazy slow until late in the day toward dark. Ended up with around 28 fishing 15-20 feet. Kept my minnows about 2 feet off the bottom.
