Most were between 8 to 10 inches but 4 were pushing 2 pounds. All were released to fight another day. I do agree about the cats too. Seems like they've been feeding a lot more lately. Caught 3 today and 6 or 7 the last weekend. Biggest was around 3 pounds, so nothing to brag about.

Sorry for the late report. We got a call and had to leave before the bite started evidently. I started fishing in 25 ft of water and watched the depth finders closely. We worked some ledges and finally started seeing good bait in the 32-38 ft range. Never saw a fish caught until we got into a group of 6 boats that were in 43-45 ft of water. We never caught any crappie but did end up the day with 2 blues in the 6 1/2 lb range and one white perch. All of which will be honored for the great fight they gave by giving them luxurious bathing in a sweet brine and then smoked for a couple of hours.

The blues are starting to turn on right now. Gaston has produced some huge catches in the past couple of weeks. Won’t be long and fishing is going to bust wide open. I just made some underwater lights for night time fishing this year and have always been a cat fisherman as well. I think Harris is going to be fun for us this year. Would love to get up with some of you guys and do a couple of night trips. Never fished for crappie like that but looks like a blast.

Night fishing with lights is a lot of fun. Less people and boats at night. I crappie fish and catfish at the same time and both are very productive. The biggest cat I've ever caught on Harris was about 12 pounds. Just don't think they get very big in that Lake for some reason. Gonna head East this summer and chase some of those 80 pounds cats in Tillery.

We fish the Nuese here at home and catch some really nasty Flatheads. My wife and I just love fishing period. Will be fishing Harris for the crappie spawn and then the bass, then head to New Bern to start chasing the shad and strippers up the Nuese and then down to Snead’s Ferry for flounder, reds, and trout......

Goodness man. You are living the dream fishing for all that. Stripers on the Roanoke is always a lot of fun too. Catching flatties is my favorite. Growing up that's what my dad always did with us at the river. Spent many many many nights on the river bank reeling in flats on rod and then on trotlines.
