Default Louisiana Swamp Worms for the win

Fished lake hickory with a friend of mine today. I used kastmaster jigging spoons, with hooks tied above the spoon baited with swamp worms. Only got one on the spoon, the rest of the fish hit the worms.

Caught some jumbo sized perch, some average size perch, and some nice brim.

Plenty enough to stink the pan! Now is the time to start getting your bigger perch.

Nice catches. Hickory is my home lake, it's full of white perch.

I have just started fishing hickory in september of 2018 and i've fallen in love with this lake. You are right about it being full of those perch! I am trying to thin them out the best I can, feeding them to people at church fish fries... etc. Probably will never make a dent. Alot of these fish were full of milt and eggs.

I think for every one you take out another thousand takes it's place. They are prolific producers, I've caught a 2inch fish before and already full of eggs. Couldn't believe it.

Wow, that is something else. I guess i'll just harvest as many as I can regardless, at least they taste great.
