Default New NC boy signing on...

    Hey guys,

The names Jesse. I own a fly fishing outfitter in boone(target trout, makes my clients happy) but in my free time, I like to fish lake hickory for perch, cats, and brim.

It's been super consistent fishing most times i've been out there. Best bait is red wigglers and louisiana swamp worms. I've had to raise them myself though, since no shops carry that kind of bait.

My favorite thing to eat in that lake is white perch. I've really cleaned up on those things. Name: 47443250_2052423351484977_6363150171085209600_n.jpg

Welcome!!! I think every lake around here is filled with white perch so catching them is pretty easy and they are a good fighting fish. I agree that they are good to eat.

Agreed. Those things are pretty much infested in most lakes. We all need to work on thinning them out! I've been serving them at church fish fries. No one complains, people love eating them.

Welcome. I use to live in Boone and had an rv on lake hickory. We use to striper and crappie fish mostly but have gone after the perch.
