Default High Rock Visit - Help Needed

I知 making my first trek over to High Rock next week (Thursday-Sunday) and didn稚 know if anyone might have some advice for someone who is new to the lake. I知 coming over from TN, so I知 not familiar with any of the NC areas at all. Thanks so much for the help.

The lake as a whole is great for crappie, biggest problems for the lake is access because of lower underpasses for bridges. Depending on what type of boat you have you'll be stuck to only certain are to fish unless lake levels are low. All branches of the lake produces a good amount of fish.

What type fishing are you planning, long lining, spider rigging, doc shooting, etc? And, what bait are you planning to use, cranks, jigs, minnows, etc?

    Thanks.

I値l fish just about any way that will work, but I prefer long lining jigs. Or maybe dock shooting. I値l jig too if needed.

Water has been up, muddy, and cooled down quite a bit since the storms. I have only fished once since them and did not catch anything. Before them we were doing great pulling crankbaits in about 16 fow . Pulling bandits. You will catch more pulling jigs there than cranks but may get more smaller fish. I usually fish upper end of the lake. Just find the bait and crappie will be there and finding bait on hr is not difficult.

That lake is finicky, one day they are in 3' of water the next 18', start where you would normally fish this time of year in your local lakes and if that don't work try Dynamite. Lol

Reports were suggesting that the water would be back to normal this weekend, but the all day rain tomorrow seems like that will set things back a bit. Maybe by Nov 1, it will be trending back to normal.

Generally speaking, rain usually takes a few days to impact the lake. It may impact the various creeks upstream but the rain today shouldn't affect the lake too much except to maybe raise the water level. I plan on fishing tomorrow myself.
