You can catch them on docks all winter long,I caught them on docks friday, Find docks near creek channels or river channels.they dont have to be deep either, friday I was catching them under docks in 10 of water.
I mainly fish Jordan but was looking to try pitching and shooting docks a time or two here soon. As transitioning to Fall should I target docks in the mid depth range? Seen many videos of people slaying crappie to almost November around docks in NC. Would most like be Tillery, Badin or High Rock that I'd be venturing out on. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Ditto to what Countryboy said. As fall approaches the crappie go back into a shallow pattern to fatten up for winter. As winter approaches look for more deep water docks with sun, any other time try to fish older docks or any dock with good shade. Pontoon boats are great to target if you are shooting a jig.
Difference between day and night: Day= one rod, one jig/Night= Many rods & a bucket full of minnersCountryboy N.C., HillBilly LIKED above post
